Top Cornish Beaches For A Christmas Day Swim
The Christmas Day swim is a long (and mad!) tradition in Cornwall. In case you'd like to join in, we've put together our selection of the top Cornish beaches for a Christmas Day swim.
Trevaunance Cove, St Agnes
Every year at 11am people flock to this small cove and launch themselves into the icy waves. Plenty of fun and best of all the Driftwood Spars pub is open afterwards to warm swimmers with hot mulled cider.
Caerhays Beach, St Austell
With a castle as the backdrop for this beautiful beach, this really is the perfect spot for a festive swim and some great photos for proof that you did it!
Watergate Bay, Newquay
We love this one just because of the amazing hot chocolates at the Beach Hut afterwards!
Sennen Cove, Penzance
At 11am you can run into the sea near Land's End and count yourself as some of the most westerly cold and crazy people in England!
Crooklets Beach, Bude
One of the biggest Christmas Day swim events in Cornwall and strictly no wetsuits allowed! Hundreds of brave swimmers and thousands of spectators head to this beach and raise money for the local surf life saving club with their daring deeds. Starts at 10.30am and there are hot drinks and food afterwards.
If you're dashing head first into the chilly waves, make sure to pack lots of warm towels, layers and woolly hats for when you get out! We've got some gorgeous Roka backpacks in stock that'll hold everything you need - they're vegan, sustainable and come in a rainbow of gorgeous colours.
