May half term in Cornwall must be one of the best school holidays - not too busy, good weather (fingers crossed!), spring flowers everywhere and heaps of fun events taking place. Here's our round up of what's on in Cornwall for May half term 2026...
Falconry Displays at Trelissick, 27th - 3st May
Meet the Victorian falconers and visit the traditional Hawk Mews where you'll find a beautiful collection of falconry birds quietly at rest in the walled garden at Trelissick. You'll learn why hawks and falcons often featured at grand country estates, find out more about hawking for the table and listen to old tales of avian folklore. Flying displays will take place daily at 11am, 1pm and 3pm between Wednesday 27 and Sunday 31 May and you'll be able to view the birds at rest in the Hawk Mews 10am-4.30pm.
Manga Drawing Workshop, Helston, 28th May
Join manga artist and writer Keith Sparrow for a fun and creative manga drawing workshop for children. Young artists will learn how to design their own exciting manga characters with step-by-step guidance, using pencil and colour. Perfect for young fans of manga and comics—no experience needed, just bring your imagination!
Costume Day at Trerice, 25th May
Bring history to life in Tudor costumes at Trerice. Join in with our volunteers and get the whole family dressed up in Tudor-inspired costumes made by the Trerice Costume Group here at Trerice. There is something fit for everyone, not just the kids!
The Great Estate Festival, Scorrier, 29th - 31st May
Cornwall's most loved, multi award-winning family festival. The Great Estate is more than just a music festival; it is an immersive three-day journey into a world of eccentric charm, hidden secrets, and world-class entertainment. Across several wild woodland stages and the grand Stage on the Green, the 2026 line-up features legendary headliners including Kaiser Chiefs, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Skunk Anansie and an exclusive DJ set from Simon Pegg. From high-octane indie anthems to late-night DJ sets, the festival offers a kaleidoscope of sound that spans genres and generations.
Outdoor Cinema at Eden, 28th - 30th May
Grab some snacks and get ready for a cinematic experience like no other. The Eden Project is hosting three nights of big screen entertainment under the stars, against the breath-taking backdrop of the Biomes. Choose from Andrea Bocelli 30: The Celebration (28 May), Wicked Sing-A-Long (29 May) and Mamma Mia! ExtrABBAganza (30 May).
Leach on the Beach, St Ives, 26th & 28th May
Join the Leach Pottery on Porthminster Beach in St Ives at a pop-up pottery studio. Bring clay together with elements of the beach to make a collection of clay-based experiments and play, see what you can create!
Shore Safari, National Maritime Museum Falmouth, 23rd - 31st May
Delve into the secret world of rockpools this May half term at National Maritime Museum Cornwall. What curious creatures will you find with The Rock Pool Project in their mobile rock pool at the Museum? Each day there will be a chance to learn and uncover more about the sea life in our Cornish waters, including the best ways to explore rock pools and identify the creatures you discover.
Outdoor Theatre Hound of the Baskervilles, Trebah, 28th May
Taking place in Trebah Garden's outdoor amphitheatre, this is a sublimely funny adaptation of the celebrated Sherlock Holmes story and a joy for all the family. The play is packed full of verbal and visual ingenuity, riotous comedy and slapstick.
Marie Curie Open Gardens at Boconnoc, 25th May
Enjoy Boconnoc in full bloom and help raise money for a good cause at the Marie Curie Open Gardens. Dogs on leads are welcome.
