What's On In Cornwall - May Half Term 2023
Wow, three bank holidays in May and now it's time for half term as well - what a treat! May is one of our favourite times in Cornwall - the weather is warming up, the hedgerows are full of wild flowers and it's time to dust off those flip flops!
There is plenty of fun to be had, we've rounded up the best of what's on in Cornwall for May half term 2023...
450 Years of Trerice
From 27th - 29th May the beautiful National Trust house of Trerice is celebrating 450 of it's history. There will be family fun and games across the whole weekend, including hobbyhorse jousting and Tudor games.
Cornwall Street Food Festival
On the picturesque Barrowfields cliffs in Newquay this family friendly street food festival takes place over the bank holiday weekend from 26th - 29th May. Plenty of live music, delicious street food, refreshing drinks and good vibes. Make sure you arrive hungry! Free entry but book your tickets on their website.
Heligan Wild Week
Wild Week returns to The Lost Gardens of Heligan this May half term and you’re invited to rediscover the wild, its importance, its beauty, and our place within it. Restore your wild side, hone your survival skills, and enjoy a week of creative outdoor play.
The Piskie in the Garden at Minack Theatre
At the world famous cliff top Minack Theatre, this show has a mixture of puppets, music and wonderful storytelling. John Brolly's new one-man show is full of mischief and fairy magic. All the family will enjoy this charming story as the hapless gardener is outwitted by the piskies. Tickets from £10. From 29th May - 2nd June.
Rock Pool Explorers at NMMC
The National Maritime Museum Cornwall is a great place for curious little minds (and big ones!). This half term see what you will find with The Rock Pool Project in their mobile rock pool. Discover the creatures found on our Cornish coast, create paper plate rock pools and join the Museum trail to help us find all the hidden rock pool creatures.
Half Term at Eden
From 27th May - 3rd June the wonderful Eden Project are running a family fun event full of pop-up performance and theatre – including music, story-telling, dance and creative workshops.
Whatever you are up to this half term, make sure to grab a raincoat, pack a picnic in a backpack and wear some comfy shoes for all those adventures!
