Top Spots In Cornwall For Waterside Dining

The warmth of a summer evening on you skin, the smell of the salty sea air and the happy clink and chatter of a restaurant. The perfect end to a summer day. Good food, good friends and the best sea views - that's what we had in mind when we put together our top spots in Cornwall for waterside dining. You won't find the usual suspects of The Pandora Inn and Porthminster Cafe here (not that we don't love them!), instead we've tried to share some spots that you might not have discovered yet...

Argoe, Newlyn

Right on the edge of Newlyn harbour, you couldn't find a more Cornish view than brightly coloured bobbing fishing boats. They serve the best of the day's catch from Newlyn fish market just yards away, alongside a wine list which focuses exclusively on low intervention wine makers following organic, natural or biodynamic practices.

Amelies, Porthleven

Pretty Porthleven has become something of a foodie destination in recent years, so you're spoilt for choice, but we particularly love harbourside Amelies who have been wowing the locals with their fresh local seafood dishes since 2009. We love their ethos of aiming to source all their ingredients within a 25 mile radius which means their dishes have the freshest produce and support local farmers. They're also dog friendly!

Tavola, Portscatho

A waterside pizzeria, what could be better! Wide sweeping views over Portscatho bay and a menu packed full of fresh pasta and stonebaked pizzas. Heaven!

Bait Shed Kitchen & Cafe, Portreath

One of our absolute favourites as it's just down the road from our shop! A fantastic little pop up on Portreath harbour serving the freshest local seafood. Simple and delicious!

The Canteen at Maker Heights, Rame Head

Ok, so we admit, this one isn't quite waterside, but the food is so good that we know you'll be glad we included it, and the water is very close by! The Canteen serves some of the best food we've had in a long time. Great prices, amazing dishes and even a shop full of local produce. Come for breakfast, stay for lunch and don't be surprised if you pop back for woodfired pizza in the evening - we warned you, it's that good!
