Tire them out with an adventure across the fields and around the hedgerows! The blackberries are perfectly ripe right now and you can have great fun picking bowls full of juicy blackberries. Have a competition to see who can find the biggest berry or who can pick the heaviest crop before taking them home to turn into a tasty crumble or bubble them up into a beautiful jam so you can enjoy the taste of summer all winter long.

The festival is spaced themed and there is even a prize for the best space themed costume, so get your best space themed outfit at the ready.
Pond Life at Cotehele Quay
Join in the hunt for creatures which live in (and on!) the pond at this free event. Watch the water closely, or have a go at pond dipping, and identify any insects, fish, or amphibians you may find.
Mini Safari
Head out and see what you can discover when you take a closer peek at nature. From tiny insects to beautiful wildflowers, fallen leaves, moss, lichen, birds and little furry friends. Even a hunt in your own back garden can reveal a secret world when you take a look! There are plenty of free Apps you can add to your phone to help from identifying birdsong to leaves, trees, flowers and more.
Summer at Pentire
Head over to Pentire near Polzeath and join in with a whole load of free activities. Have a go at a ball bounce challenge, hula-hoop off and try a balance board. There’s also the popular fairy trail to enjoy. There’s space to picnic in the shade or grab an ice cream at Pentyr Café.
Make a day of it by exploring the wider Pentire headland, criss-crossed with footpaths to explore. The beach at Pentireglaze Haven is about a 15 minute walk along a sloping track.
Rock Painting
Grab your paints and some pebbles or rocks and paint them with creative and colourful designs. You can even get involved in The Kindness Rocks Project by leaving them for someone else to find to cheer up their day.
Beachcombing & Rock Pooling
Head to the coast and see what you can find along the tide line of the beach. Will it be colourful sea glass, washed up Lego pieces, shells or a message in a bottle? Peer into rock pools and see the bright seaweeds, small fishes, crabs and anemones hiding in their underwater homes (don't forget to not cause them any stress and leave them where you find them). After you get home why not get creative with your beachcombing finds and turn them into mini sculptures or pictures.
Take all you need with you on your adventures by packing your picnic, coats and sunscreen into one of our colourful Roka backpacks.
