Cornwall's Best Independent Cafes & Coffee Shops
Nothing gets the senses going in the morning more than the aroma of freshly ground coffee. We love a good cup of joe, and if that's accompanied by a fantastic cake or awesome sourdough sandwich then all the better!
As a family run business in Cornwall, we love supporting other local, small businesses. So we've put together a list of Cornwall's best independent cafes & coffee shops to share with you. Brighten your day (and theirs!) by supporting these cracking local spots...
Old Penny's Vintage Tea Room
This one is just steps from our shop! A gorgeous tea room filled with vintage homeware, trinkets and clothes (see what bargains you can discover to take home!) and where you can also relax and tuck into some of the best cake, cream teas, quiche, coffee and more.
Strong Adolfo's, nr Wadebridge
Once discovered, never forgotten! Strong Adolfo's is pretty legendary among those in the know. We recommend the Garden Party Pancakes - huge, fluffy American pancakes covered with berries, meringue, mint and other yummy treats!
The Roastery, Penryn
If you're a coffee lover in Cornwall then you've probably discovered (and fallen in love with!) Origin Coffee. The Roastery is their HQ and it also has a fantastic cafe! Probably the best cup of coffee in the county.
Short & Strong, Charlestown
On a sunny day, this is the perfect spot. A table in the sun overlooking the harbour with its pastel coloured cottages and elegant tall ships is just the spot to while away an afternoon watching the world go by. Don't miss the ridiculously good cinnamon swirls and donuts.
Kynance Cove Cafe
Is this the world's most perfect cafe? Tucked away just above the famous Kynance Cove, this cafe has possibly the most glorious views in Cornwall! Grab a table outside, and tuck into some tasty treats - as much of which is sourced locally and sustainably as possible. Afterwards laze the day away on the beach just below, explore the caves and rockpools (extra points for finding the Mermaid's Pool, perfect for a dip) or stride out along the coastpath. Considering how Kyanance Cove has become so popular on Instagram in recent years though, this one might be best saved for outside of the school hols!
Muddy Beach, Penryn
Chilled vibes, beautiful river views and some great events are the name of the game at Muddy Beach. Perched on the banks of the Penryn River, this is a great spot for tucking into some local seafood, indulging in brunch or just sitting back with a cuppa and some cake.
