Best Places In Cornwall for Summer Dog Friendly Walks
Come rain or shine, you'll find us on a dog walk every day, so we know some great spots. With the dog ban in force on many Cornish beaches over the summer, it can get a bit trickier to find walks, so here is our round up of the best places in Cornwall for summer dog friendly walks...
Shady Walks
Keep those pooches cool in the heat with a lovely shady walk. Try Tehidy Woods just up the road from our shop, Kennall Vale near Ponsanooth, Luxulyan Valley near Par or Rocky Valley near Tintagel.
Walks With Cooling Dips
What could be better than a lovely walk with a river to dip hot paws (and feet!) into. We love the creekside walk from Porth Farm near Portscatho, Trelissick woodland walk near Truro with its river beach to paddle or swim in, Lerryn river path and Golitha Falls.
Dog Friendly Beaches
The dog ban over the summer months makes dog friendly beaches a little trickier, but we have several favourites - Harlyn Bay near Padstow, Gorran Haven near Mevagissey and Kennack Sands on the Lizard.
Quiet Walks
Is you dog reactive or nervous? We know trying to find a quiet spot with less people and dogs in the summer in Cornwall can be a bit of a challenge. Why not try Chun Castle near Penzance with its amazing iron age hill fort and views out to sea and over to the Isles of Scilly. Or Bodmin Moor with its huge open spaces and Godolphin Hill for its peaceful country feel.
Space To Run
If your dog is full of bounce and needs a good run then these beaches are not only dog friendly but huge when the tide is out. Plenty of space to chase balls and run free. Try Watergate Bay, Mexico Towans at Hayle, Penhale Sands at Perranporth, Holywell Bay or Porthcothan.
Dogs are always welcome to visit our shop! There are plenty of cuddles and fresh water waiting for them.
